Biotrade Ventures is a hybrid incubator and accelerator which supports the development of existing and new businesses in the indigenous natural products sector. It is registered as a non-profit company (NPC) in South Africa.

The Biotrade Ventures team has many years of business development experience, including setting up trade associations and networks. We believe the hybrid approach best suits current challenges and opportunities in the indigenous natural products sector.

Biotrade Ventures connects development goals to commercial opportunities in growing markets for natural and organic cosmetics, novel and natural foods, and beverages including new plant proteins. We identify small biotrade businesses with high potential, including cooperatives and start-ups, and support them to grow and become commercially successful and independent enterprises. Selected candidates are able to participate in transformative new technology opportunities through PhytoTech Africa.

Biotrade Ventures builds on the reputation and experience of PhytoTrade Africa, which accumulated 20 years of biotrade supply chain, product and market development experience with more than 100 small businesses in nine countries in southern Africa.
